Weather Underground Forecast for Friday, October 10, 2008.

Hurricane Norbert will lose some strength and become a Category 3 hurricane on Friday as it turns and takes a northeastward track. This system will not yet make landfall over Baja California, but will bring strong winds, rain, and dangerous surf to the region due to its 121 mph winds, gusting up to 150 mph. To the southeast, Tropical Storm Sixteen-E will maintain its strength as it continues on its northwestward path, skirting along the southern shore of Mexico. The storm will have 52 mph winds with gusts up to 69 mph, and will bring heavy rain, strong winds, and dangerous surf to southern Mexico on Friday. Wet weather is expected over much of the Caribbean on Friday. A tropical wave over Honduras and Nicaragua will trigger scattered showers and thunderstorms over the Yucatan Peninsula. Otherwise, most of Mexico will remain mostly clear with a few scattered clouds. Another tropical wave will kick up moderate to heavy showers with possible thunderstorm development over Panama and Colombia. The combination of these two systems will bring hot and humid conditions to most of Central America. In the north, a cold front will move east of Florida, but may bring some residual moisture to the northern Gulf region. This may cause scattered afternoon showers over the Bahamas and Cuba. The Lesser Antilles will also see scattered showers and thunderstorms and humid weather as a tropical wave moves over the region on Friday.
